EIB-Dashen €40 Million Facility Opens Financing Opportunities for Ethiopian SMEs

The €40 million financing partnership announced on 29 October 2026 by EIB Global and Dashen Bank is designed to improve access to longer-term funding for Ethiopian small and medium-sized businesses. The facility includes €20 million from each institution and focuses particularly on agriculture, related value chains and climate-related business activities. It is an SME financing programme rather than a dedicated venture-capital fund, and no separate startup investment pool has been announced. Startups, entrepreneurs and business accelerators can explore opportunities in business analytics, investment preparation and scalable digital products.
